Phlebotomy Externships
RCI has an extensive externship program for all phlebotomy students.
In addition to classroom instruction, RCI students will complete their Phlebotomy Certification program as an extern in a professional healthcare facility (e.g. hospital, medical clinic, etc.) with hands-on practical training. Students are required to complete 40 hours of clinical time during which they will work with a phlebotomist preceptor, drawing blood from actual patients at one of many RCI community affiliate locations.
Our externship instruction will give you the opportunity to use your classroom-learned phlebotomy skills in a real-world professional medical healthcare setting. You will be working with real patients under the supervision of experienced medical healthcare professionals.
